'Don't play with the law, religion means...', CM Mamata Banerjee appeals for peace after violence

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to the people to maintain peace after the recent incidents of violence in the state. Addressing a public meeting, she said, "Don't play with the law, religion means love and unity, not violence."
Mamata made it clear that her government will not tolerate any kind of disturbance and strict action will be taken against the culprits. She said, "We all have to establish peace and brotherhood together. Those who spread hatred in the society will not be spared."
After these incidents of violence, the police have tightened security and additional forces have been deployed in many areas. The Chief Minister requested the people not to pay attention to rumors and maintain mutual harmony.
She also said that the government will start relief work in the affected areas and all possible help will be provided to the victims. Mamata stressed that the culture of Bengal has always been of unity and coordination, and no one can spoil it.
Finally, he appealed to the youth to work in a positive direction and contribute to improving the society.
