A seven-member committee will probe Parambir Singh in the corruption case

Mumbai: Former Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh's troubles are likely to escalate further. The Mumbai Police on Wednesday set up a seven-member committee to probe corruption against six people, including Parambir Singh, and will be chaired by a Deputy Commissioner of Police.

 
A few days ago, eight persons, including former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, were booked at the Marine Drive police station for demanding ransom from a builder.
Marine Drive police had registered a case against eight people, including former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, for demanding ransom from a builder. MLA Geeta Jain's brother Sanjay Punamiya and Sunil Jain were arrested in the case. Meanwhile, there was talk of re-excavating this old case.
The case was registered against Deputy Commissioner of Police Akbar Pathan, Inspector of Police Asha Korke, Nandkumar Gopale, police officers Shrikant Shinde and Sanjay Patil. The action was taken by the police on a complaint lodged by builder Sham Sundar Agarwal.
He was accused by a builder in Mira Bhayandar of grabbing two lands worth Rs 4 crore 68 lakh by threatening to take moccasin action against his uncle and implicating his brother in a false crime. Manere was in trouble with Singh over the crime.
