After the deletion of Section 370, so many people bought land in Jammu and Kashmir; Central Government Information

New Delhi: With the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, land purchase rules have been relaxed, allowing any citizen across the country to buy and sell land. After the implementation of this in 2019, how many people have bought land there so far, the information has been given in the rainy session of the Lok Sabha. This information was given by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai while answering a question in this regard.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said that as per the information given by the Jammu and Kashmir government, two persons from outside the state have bought two properties since August 2019. The country recently celebrated its second anniversary on the occasion of the completion of two years since the deletion of Article 370. On August 5, 2019, Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, was repealed. The Modi government at the Center had announced the division of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories (Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh).
The central government had subsequently allowed non-agricultural land in Kashmir to be purchased by people from outside the state. Earlier, only the people of Jammu and Kashmir could buy land here. Changes have also been made in the rules for becoming a local resident of Jammu and Kashmir. If men from other states marry a girl from Jammu and Kashmir, arrangements have been made to make her a permanent resident there. Until now, in such cases, the woman's husband and children were not considered permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
