Bandu Dhotre hospitalized due to ill health
Chandrapur / Representative

President Bandu Dhotre, who had been on a hunger strike for the last eight days to protect Ramala Lake, was shifted to the District General Hospital in Chandrapur on Monday evening due to ill health. A meeting was held with the Minister of Environment today. He requested to withdraw the food satyagraha. However, the agitation has not been withdrawn yet and the food abstinence satyagraha is continuing.
In today's meeting, Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray has asked the District Collector to submit a proposal regarding the fund. During the meeting, the District Collector said that a total of Rs. 50 to 60 crore is required for Ramala Lake. On this, Bandu Dhotre said that beautification of the lake is the next step and there is an urgent need to deepen the lake and divert the flow of nallas coming into the lake. It does not require much funds, but approval from the Mineral Development Fund of the district required for this work. Bandu Dhotre has demanded that the Guardian Minister should pay. The rest of the beautification proposal can be sent to the government. Taking into account the environmental damage caused by the mines around the city, Bandu Dhotre said that these works are expected to be funded by the Mineral Development Fund. Bandu Dhotre said that the Guardian Minister should give a written assurance about the deepening of the lake and the diversion of water from the nallah and the sanction of funds required for the construction of the nallah. He thanked Aditya Thackeray for his role in Ramala Lake and welcomed his role.
