CM orders trial of Sakinaka rape case on fast track


MUMBAI: A victim of a rape incident in Mumbai's Sakinaka area has died while undergoing treatment. The accused had allegedly raped a woman in Sakinaka area and inserted a rod into her genitals. The woman was rushed to a hospital after senior police officials came to know about the incident. But the woman died while undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar.

 
Police have arrested one accused in the case. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has taken the matter seriously and ordered to take the case to fast track. The Chief Minister has assured that the culprits will be severely punished. Meanwhile, a Mumbai court has remanded accused Mohan Chauhan in police custody for 10 days.
The rape and subsequent death of a woman in the Sakinaka area is an act of disgrace to humanity and the perpetrator will be severely punished. I have also spoken to the Home Minister of the state in this regard, said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The Chief Minister has taken complete information about this incident and has discussed it with the Commissioner of Police. The incident is reprehensible and the perpetrators will be severely punished. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that the case will be taken on fast track and the victim will get justice. The Chief Minister also directed to expedite the investigation in this case.
