Cabinet decision A sugar museum will be set up in Pune

Mumbai, Dec 22: Considering the position of Maharashtra in the sugar industry, the proposal to set up a world class sugar museum at Pune was approved in the cabinet meeting held today.
A sugar museum will be set up in the space of the sugar complex at Pune. Approval was given to set up a state level regulatory committee under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Minister and an executive committee under the chairmanship of the Minister for Co-operation to oversee the construction of the museum.
Approximately Rs. Expenditure up to Rs. 40 crore is expected and for this the government has given approval to the Sugar Commissioner to provide this fund in three years. The design for the construction of the sugar museum was selected from a national level competition.
