Dedication of Stemi Maharashtra Project by Health Minister Rajesh Tope


Mumbai: Patients need to be treated within the first hour of a heart attack. The Steamy Maharashtra project will enable treatment in the first hour, said Health Minister Public Rajesh Tope. Today, on World Heart Day, Tope inaugurated the 'Steamy Maharashtra' project from the Sub-District Hospital, Kamathi, Nagpur in a virtual manner. He was talking at the time.

‘Emphasis must be placed on preventive measures’
Tope said there is a need to focus on preventive measures to reduce the number of deaths due to heart attacks. Three to four per cent of the rural population and eight to ten per cent of the urban population are living sedentary lifestyles, the number of heart patients is increasing. For this, emphasis should be laid on increasing public awareness programs among the general public. The first hour after a heart attack is known as the "golden hour." He also appealed for proper and prompt treatment in this first hour with the help of stem project.
