Demand for removal of Ganga-Jamuna, demand of BJP corporators

Nagpur, Dec 21: The Ganga-Jamuna settlement is notorious. Due to this settlement, goons roam in this area. They are terrified. The business is run by underage girls. These girls are brought from abroad. Don't deny this frustration. We are working for this. The Commissioner of Police is doing a good job. Congratulations to them. BJP corporators Manoj Chafle and Vandana Ingatwar claimed that they have the support of the people.
He said people in the area are fed up with the business. Government and courtiers are constantly complaining. There is no hearing on it. No one understands what the people in this area think. Therefore, business in Ganga-Jamna is not going away now. Until then, we will not remain silent. Jwala Dhote is opposed to the removal of business in the settlement. They frequently agitate in this place. However, they did not understand the side of the local residents, they also accused the corporators of agitating with the money. Former corporator of ward no. 22 Raju Dhakate said that he is with the corporators. Supporting the allegations, Chafle said that Jwala Dhote has no knowledge of the area, there are about 15-20 hidden alleys in the area. There are also basements.
The brokers first take the underage girls from other parts of the country to a house in Vathoda, Manewada etc. in Nagpur. As soon as they get a chance and customers, they are brought to the settlement at midnight and kept in the basement. Many girls are 13-14 years old. Brokers use injections of hormone changes to bring them to an early age. This is a violation of human rights. So far many complaints have been lodged but no action has been taken, when we lodged a complaint with Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar on August 11. So they took immediate action and sealed the settlement, for which we, the corporators there, congratulate them very much. Decent women suffer. Women can’t even stand in the gallery, girls ’weddings don’t match. When he found out that he was living near Ganga-Jamuna settlement, he also expressed his grief.
Speaking on the occasion, former BJP corporator Raju Dhakate said, "My house is only 15-20 meters away from this slum. 70% of the housewives have died in this slum. In this place, with one or two exceptions in Maharashtra, all the prostitutes are foreigners. Police have conducted raids from time to time and rescued 11 minor girls from the area and handed them over to their parents.
There were four government schools in the area, which also closed because the parents of good families were not ready to send their children to this area for education, said the school director.
Asked about the builder lobby, Chafle said, "Since 90 per cent of the houses are owned by prostitutes, there is no question of a builder lobby." Prostitutes have not only sold their homes, but also the builder lobby. It's just a rumor.
Even after the settlement was sealed and the case went to court, on September 10, 2015, the Nagpur Bench of the Mumbai High Court allowed prostitutes to stay in the area as landlords. However, it was decided that it would not be possible to do business, Chafle said. During the Corona period we felt food kits. Going from house to house we took mobile numbers, helped them. "We are ready to go to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for his upliftment if we feel like it. We are ready to provide him with financial resources like housing, self-help groups, etc.," said Vandana Ingatwar.
