The recruitment process is being conducted through the sacred system on the basis of the marks in the ‘Aptitude and Intelligence Test’ (TAIT) examinations conducted in December, 2017 for about 12,070 teacher servant posts. The process of appointing 5,970 education workers so far has already been completed in February, 2020. The recruitment process was put on hold due to the Finance Department's ruling that no department other than the Department of Public Health and Medical Education should recruit new staff due to the outbreak of corona.
However, due to the large number of vacancies in the posts of teachers, the Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has asked the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to continue the process of recruitment of education workers. .
