Funds of Rs. 122 crore 26 lakh 30 thousand sanctioned for crop damage due to hailstorm and untimely rains


Mumbai: Due to hailstorm and unseasonal rains, crops were damaged in the districts of Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati and Nagpur during March, April and May 2021. A government decision has been issued to provide assistance for the damage caused by hailstorm and unseasonal rains. Under the initiative of Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Vadettiwar, a fund of Rs 122.26 crore has been sanctioned to distribute aid to the farmers affected by the crop damage. This assistance will be given to the farmers whose crops have been damaged by 33% or more.

 
The Central Disaster Response Fund and State Disaster Response Fund have been sanctioned to distribute a total of 122 crore 26 lakh 30 thousand funds to the districts through the Divisional Commissioners. Are given.
Rs 29 lakh 30 thousand for Konkan division, Rs 3 crore 16 lakh 75 thousand for Pune division, Rs 59 crore 36 lakh 34 thousand for Nashik division, Rs 15 crore 51 lakh 54 thousand for Aurangabad division and Rs 15 crore 51 lakh 54 thousand for Amravati division. 38 crore 87 lakh 56 thousand rupees, 5 crore 4 lakh 81 thousand rupees has been sanctioned for Nagpur division.
The hailstorm and unseasonal rains caused severe damage to crops and orchards in the districts of Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati and Nagpur. Upon learning of the dire situation, Relief and Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Vijay Vadettiwar inspected the area, canceled all planned visits to interact directly with the citizens and immediately visited the affected districts. While inspecting the damage caused during the visit, Vadettiwar had said that the government was behind him to help the farmers. He had discussed the matter with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar and requested the farmers for immediate help. After that, the Revenue and Forest Department has issued a government decision to sanction the funds.
