Nagpur: Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar took initiation into Buddhism on 14 October 1956. To commemorate this day and express gratitude to Babasaheb, followers have entered Diksha Bhoomi like every year. The 68th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day ceremony will be held on Saturday at 6 pm in the presence of Bhikkhu Sangha. This year, for the first time, no political leader will be given a place on the stage.
Bhandat Dnyaneshwar, President of the Bhikkhu Sangha of Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, Akash Lama, the pioneer of the Mahabodhi Mahavihar Mukti Andolan will be present as the chief guest at the Dhammachakra Pravartan Day function. Bhadanta Dnyaneshwar is a disciple of Bhadanta Chandramani Mahasthavir who initiated Babasaheb. Apart from this, President of Smarak Samiti Arya Nagarjuna Surai Sasai will also be present on the stage. Special arrangements have been made by the administration and Smarak Samiti due to rain on Dhammachakra Pravartan Day celebrations. The administration has put up big tents in the ITI area to shelter the followers. Apart from this, in case of more rain, schools, colleges and government offices in the area will also be opened.
