Keep the health system ready as the Kovid patient population is increasing - Dr. Sanjeev Kumar

 Nagpur, Dec 17: The number of corona patients is steadily increasing, out of which patients are in urgent need of medical facilities as well as oxygen. The Divisional Commissioner directed to provide oxygen, beds, manpower etc. in government and private hospitals for such patients. Presented by Sanjeev Kumar today.
            The Divisional Commissioner was speaking at a meeting held in the hall of the Divisional Commissioner's Office regarding Kovid.
 Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, Collector Ravindra Thackeray, Chief Executive Officer Yogesh Kumbhejkar, Deputy Director of Health Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Mayo, Medical, Datta Meghe, AIIMS, Lata Mangeshkar and other medical colleges, all members of the task force as well as senior officials from the departments of Revenue, Industry, Police, Food and Drug Administration were present.
As the number of corona patients in the division is continuously increasing in Nagpur district as well, the Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that while increasing the number of beds in government medical colleges, priority has been given to making beds with oxygen. For this, a fund of Rs. 127 crore has been made available from the District Planning and Mineral Development Fund. He directed to complete the urgently needed facilities for Kovid patients from this fund.
Necessary measures including lockdown have been implemented to control the number of Kovid patients. In addition, people who come in contact with these patients are also being investigated. With the increase in the number of check-ups in the department as well as in the district, the number of covid patients is increasing at the same rate.
Information regarding beds available in private and government hospitals will be made available to the public. Also, for the patients who do not need immediate admission, the corporation is providing guidance on home segregation and delivering the necessary medical aid to their homes. The administration has appealed to the patients to cooperate for the necessary treatment as per the instructions of the administration without being admitted in unnecessary hospitals.
 Additional oxygen beds are being made available at Government Medical College and Indira Gandhi Medical College. Chief Executive Officer Yogesh Kumbhejkar called on the officers of various departments and officials of the task force regarding the necessary permits and oxygen plant etc. and instructed them to plan for this work to be completed immediately.
MLA's residence for Kovid patients, Pachpavli and Kovid Care Center are being started at Vanamati, out of which facilities are being provided for medical officers at Vanamati. Necessary facilities will be provided in Covid Center and necessary manpower will be available. It was also informed in the meeting that remedicivir injection will be available only as per medical advice.
 District Collector Ravindra Thackeray has provided necessary funds to increase the number of beds by constructing additional health facilities at Kovid Care Center as well as Mayo and Medical. The officials of the medical colleges were also instructed to complete the work within the stipulated time and provide additional beds to the patients immediately.
