Lakhimpur Violence: Yogi government announces Rs 45 lakh to families of dead farmers and government jobs

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has interacted with agitating farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri and the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to pay Rs 45 lakh to the relatives of four farmers killed in the violence. The families of the deceased will be compensated Rs 45 lakh and the injured will be given Rs 10 lakh. The Yogi government has also announced that a family member of the victim will be given a job.

 
According to Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Prashant Kumar, the Uttar Pradesh government will provide Rs 45 lakh and government jobs to the families of four farmers who died on Sunday in Lakhimpur Kheri. So, Rs 10 lakh will be given to the injured. There will also be a judicial inquiry into the violence. An FIR will be registered as per the complaint of the farmers and the matter will be investigated by a retired High Court judge. As Section 144 is applicable in the district at present, leaders of political parties are not allowed to enter the district. Only leaders of farmers' associations can come to the district.
A total of nine people have been killed in the Lakhimpur violence. This includes four farmers. So, it has come to light that the other four people killed were BJP workers. A local journalist was also killed in the incident. Police have registered a case against Ashish, son of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra, in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Farmer leaders had demanded the arrest of Ashish Mishra. Meanwhile, an FIR has also been lodged against farmers, including Ashish Mishra.
