
Mahajyoti to set up Centres of Excellence in five districts - Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai, Date 13: Schemes like coaching for competitive exams and fellowships are implemented for students through Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Research and Training Institute. Mahajyoti will set up Centres of Excellence in five major districts of Pune, Amravati, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nashik through this institute and the aim is to train students in various fields through these centres, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis reviewed the next 100 days plan of the Other Backward Classes Welfare Department at the Sahyadri Guest House.
Other Backward Classes Welfare Minister Atul Save was present at this meeting through video conferencing.
Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis said that a digital classroom project will be implemented to provide technically advanced quality education to the students of the private aided residential ashram schools of the Vijabhaj category run by the department in a digital manner. A scheme will be implemented to build houses for the liberated castes and nomadic tribes under the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNT'S (SEED) on the lines of the Central Government's Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). A total of 18 corporations have been established under the Maharashtra State Other Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation and the Vasantrao Naik Vimukt Castes and Nomadic Tribes Development Corporation and a web portal should be created for the beneficiaries of these corporations immediately, Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis directed on this occasion.
A proposal should also be prepared to increase the loan limit of the personal loan interest refund scheme implemented by the corporation and submitted in the cabinet meeting. Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis instructed the Chief Secretary to hold a meeting with the District Collector of the concerned district regarding the availability of space for starting hostels for boys and girls of Other Backward Classes in the district.
Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Principal Secretary of Other Backward Classes Welfare Department Vinita Ved Singal, along with Principal Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries, Secretaries of various departments were present in this meeting.
