Now the learner does not have to go to the transport office to get a driver's license

MUMBAI: The Department of Transport has taken an ambitious step in the public interest by providing learner driver's license and registration of new private two-wheelers and four-wheelers online through distributors. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray appealed to adopt the procedure.
Under the updated system of Sarathi 4.0, the online learner driver's license attached to the Aadhaar numbers as well as the online system of vehicle registration were inaugurated by the Chief Minister. He was talking at the time. More than 15 lakh learner's licenses are issued in the state every year and more than 20 lakh new vehicles are registered. This work costs the citizens about Rs 100 crore.
