Raj Thackeray criticizes decision to form new wards for local body elections

Nashik: The state government has announced a new ward structure for the upcoming local body elections, according to which there will be three, two and one member system. While the opposition BJP is objecting to it, MNS president Raj Thackeray has taken it in stride. Raj Thackeray is currently on a tour of Nashik and while talking to reporters there, he criticized the formation of new wards. While there is no such system anywhere in the country, the only reason for where and why it started in Maharashtra is to seize power, said Raj Thackeray.

I had talked about this 5 years ago. When there was a NCP and a Congress government in 2012, there was only one candidate. He then formed a ward of 2 candidates. After that BJP fielded 4 candidates. Now that this government has come, they have already formed a ward. The Election Commission also directed to field a single candidate. After that, yesterday he brought the wards of 3 candidates again, said Raj Thackeray.

Meanwhile, will Raj Thackeray form a ward of three MLAs or three MPs like the local bodies? He also asked the opposite question. Basically there is no such method anywhere in the country. Everywhere there is only one candidate for MP, MLA, Palika, Gram Panchayat. The only reason why this started in Maharashtra and why is to seize power and create wards from it in your own way and win elections by pouring money. But why do people suffer from this? Why do people vote for three candidates instead of one? The people were to be taken into account and the wards were to be divided in the desired manner. The Election Commission should take action on this. Is Maharashtra's law different from the rest of the country? What kind of game is this? Are you going to have a ward of three MLAs or three MPs tomorrow? ” That's what he said.

While criticizing the state government in this regard, Raj Thackeray has also appealed to the citizens. I urge the people to go to court, to the Election Commission. No corporator allows another to work. One proposes and the other opposes. If people want to meet a corporator tomorrow, which corporator should they meet? He has made a mockery of the election and the people are not talking about it. If we go to court, it smells political, said Raj Thackeray.

Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray has alleged that elections are being managed by changing the ward structure in this manner. This manages the elections. Why did the ward of one become four again? He was four, why did he return three? This game has been going on for the last 10 years and do you want to keep watching with open eyes ?, said Raj Thackeray.
