Suresh Raina became a troll on social media after making racist remarks

Chennai: Former cricketer Suresh Raina has come under controversy for claiming to be from a higher caste. Suresh Raina has said that since he is a Brahmin, he has mixed with South Indian culture. This video of Suresh Raina is going viral on social media and many have trolled him demanding that he should apologize.
 
The fifth season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League has begun. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina was chatting through a video. One commentator asked Suresh Raina how he blended into South Indian culture. On that Suresh Raina said, I think I am a Brahmin. I have been playing in Chennai since 2004. I love the culture here, I love my colleagues. I have played with Aniruddha Srikkanth, Badri and Balabhai too. I am lucky to be a part of Chennai.
Suresh Raina has been representing the Chennai Super Kings since 2008. Now he is being trolled on social media for revealing his caste identity. Many have demanded that Suresh Raina apologize in this case. On social media, a fan wrote, "Suresh Raina, you haven't really learned the culture of Chennai despite being with the Chennai team for so many years."
Officials of the Chennai Super Kings team did not comment on Suresh Raina's statement. In the IPL 2020 season, Suresh Raina had returned home from Dubai citing 'personal reasons'. Chennai Super Kings management was upset with Raina's decision. Even so, the management had decided to give Raina another chance in the 2021 season.
