The heartbreaking decision of the Supreme Court; Now girls can also take the NDA entrance exam

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has announced a relief for girls who want to join the army for the security of the country. Now the doors of NDA, the National Defense Academy, will be open for girls too. Girls will also be able to take the NDA entrance exam. The Supreme Court's decision has come as a great relief to girls across the country. The NDA entrance exam is on September 5 and for the first time, girls will be able to take the exam.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court by Delhi-based lawyer Kush Kalra. In the petition, he said women are allowed to enlist in the army only after graduation. The minimum age for them is 21 years. It was said that children can get admission in NDM only after 12th standard. The PIL also said that denying them access to the NDA on the grounds of gender discrimination was an attack on their fundamental rights. The court had asked the central government to clarify its role in the case. A bench of justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hrishikesh Roy heard the case.
The petition said the National Defense Academy recruits young officers in the army and only children are admitted to the Naval Academy. To do so is a violation of the fundamental rights of deserving girls who want to enlist in the army and serve the country.
The petition referred to a Supreme Court decision last year. That was the decision, in which women officers were asked to pay a permanent commission. The petitioners contended that in the same way that the court gave women military officers the same rights as men, the same rights should be given to girls who want to enlist in the army.
The petition said that children are allowed to enter the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy after 12th standard. But what are the different options for girls to join the army. They start at 19 to 21 years of age. Graduates are also required to have a minimum educational qualification.
