Polling peacefully in Nagpur-Amravati division for the 2024 Assembly General Elections
Nagpur, Date 20: Voting was held peacefully in Nagpur and Amravati divisions for the 2024 Assembly General Elections and voters exercised their right to vote. Voting began at 7 am today. The percentage of voting district-wise in the division till 5 pm is as follows.
In Nagpur division, the highest voting till 5 pm was in Gadchiroli district at 69.63 percent. District-wise voting was recorded in Wardha district at 63.5 percent, Nagpur district at 56.06 percent, Bhandara district at 65.88 percent, Gondia district at 65.09 percent and Chandrapur district at 64.48 percent. Voters thronged the polling stations to exercise their right to vote. The enthusiasm of the voters who were voting for the first time was evident in this.
Voting was conducted peacefully in all the three constituencies of Armori, Gadchiroli and Aheri in Gadchiroli district, and there were long queues of citizens to vote even at the most sensitive polling stations in remote and Naxal-affected areas. No untoward incident occurred at any polling station. The district administration had made strict arrangements for voting. Necessary arrangements including wheelchairs were made for the elderly and disabled voters.
Selfie points were arranged at the polling stations for the general election of the Legislative Assembly. Young voters took pictures of themselves voting with selfies. A model booth was set up in each constituency in the district. Voters showed great enthusiasm for voting at the polling stations. A women-managed polling station was set up in each Assembly constituency in the district.

In Amravati division, about 59.22 percent voters exercised their right to vote for the general elections to the Legislative Assembly till 5 pm. The percentage of voting in the 5 districts of Amravati division till 5 pm today is 56.16 percent in Akola district, 58.48 percent in Amravati district, 62.84 percent in Buldhana district, 57.42 percent in Washim district and 61.22 percent in Yavatmal district.
