“Gadkari's warning to all parties including BJP: Stop dynastic rule!”
Nagpur, November 29: Union Road and Highways Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari has once again taken a strong stand on political dynastic rule. Speaking at an event organized in Nagpur today, he raised the issue of dynastic rule in all political parties and directly targeted the practice of giving candidatures to relatives of leaders, leaving aside loyal workers.
“Leaders who always say ‘stop dynastic rule’, are now giving tickets to their children, brothers, nephews and sons-in-law, flouting all rules, on the eve of elections. It is very sad to see this. Workers who have been working day and night for the party for years are being left behind,” Gadkari said in strong words.
Gadkari's statement is considered very important in the backdrop of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. While there is talk of giving tickets to heirs in many places in BJP and other parties, Gadkari has indirectly addressed all party leaders.
“A worker asked me, ‘Saheb, we work hard for the party, but the tickets go to the leaders’ houses.’ What should I answer him?” Gadkari asked, taking a dig at the party leaders.
It is being said that Gadkari’s statement will spark a new discussion in BJP’s internal politics.
