“Sanskrit is the Soul of India” – Mohan Bhagwat’s Statement

Delhi: Emphasizing the significance of the Sanskrit language, Mohan Bhagwat declared it to be the “soul of India.” He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the central office of ‘Samskrita Bharati’ in Delhi.
Bhagwat stated that Sanskrit is not merely a language, but the very foundation of India’s ethos, culture, and way of life. He clarified that India is not merely a geographical entity, but a living tradition—and the roots of that tradition lie in Sanskrit.
He also addressed the common misconception among students that “Sanskrit is difficult.” He remarked that learning a language is far easier through conversation and regular usage than through textbooks alone.
Bhagwat further noted that Sanskrit serves as a unifying link connecting various Indian languages ??and plays a pivotal role in preserving cultural integration within society.
Furthermore, he observed that public perception regarding Sanskrit has undergone a positive shift over the past few years. He conveyed the message that learning Sanskrit is essential for reconnecting with one’s cultural heritage.
