"Prakash Ambedkar attacks government over demand for constitutional amendment"

Pune, August 26, 2025: Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi leader Prakash Ambedkar has strongly criticized the current political situation in the country and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "There is a lack of real political leadership in the country," he said, raising questions about the administration of the central government. Speaking at a press conference organized in Pune, he strongly objected to the government's policies and especially the proposed changes in the Constitution.
Ambedkar said, "It is already mentioned in the Constitution that if a minister wants to be removed for some reason, he can be removed. Then why do we need a constitutional amendment for a period of 30 days again? What exactly does the government want to achieve with this?" He raised doubts about the government's intentions on this issue and suspected that there were some political tactics behind this.
Criticism of the government's administration
Prakash Ambedkar indirectly attacked Prime Minister Modi's leadership without naming him. He said, "There is a real lack of leadership in the country today. There is no leader who fights for the welfare of the people, who prioritizes their problems. Instead, political self-interest and lust for power are being given priority." He further said that the common man, especially the deprived community, is being neglected due to the government's policies.
Question mark on the constitutional amendment proposal
Speaking on the issue of the proposed constitutional amendment, Ambedkar called the government's decision "unnecessary" and "questionable". "The Constitution is the soul of the country. Transparency and public participation are necessary while making changes to it. But it seems that the current government only wants to make changes that are convenient for itself," he said. He expressed fear that this constitutional amendment could pose a threat to the basic principles of democracy.
Warning to the government from a press conference in Pune
In this press conference in Pune, Ambedkar criticized not only the central government but also the policies of the state government. "In Maharashtra too, the ruling party is ignoring the basic issues of the people. The problems of farmers, workers and the underprivileged community remain the same," he said. He appealed to the people that in such a situation, it is necessary to raise their voices together.
The future path of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi
Prakash Ambedkar also gave some suggestions regarding the future plans of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. "We will continue to fight for the rights of the people and social justice. No matter how much oppression the government may resort to, we will not back down," he firmly stated. He especially appealed to the youth and the underprivileged community to be politically active.
Public reaction
Ambedkar's statement is receiving mixed reactions from the general public and political analysts. Some have supported his criticism and raised questions about the government's policies, while others have challenged him to criticize the Prime Minister directly. There is also a strong discussion on social media about this.
