Pune, August 3, 2026: Pune Airport created history in air traffic on Sunday (August 2), handling a total of 216 flight movements in a single day. This figure comprised 108 arrivals and 108 departures, marking the milestone of crossing the 200-flight mark.
The airport established a record for the highest volume of traffic to date. On this same day, over 33,000 passengers traveled by air, setting a new high for passenger numbers. Previously, on June 1, 2025, the airport had handled 212 flights in a single day; by surpassing this figure on Sunday, Pune Airport reached a new milestone.
Airport authorities attributed this record-breaking performance largely to the 15 additional slots made available by the Indian Air Force for the current summer season. The increase in slots has led to a rise in the number of flights operating from Pune, while the launch of direct services to new cities has provided passengers with a wider range of travel options.

Despite the heavy traffic on Sunday, systematic management ensured that not a single aircraft had to perform a ‘go-around.’ Consequently, flight schedules remained smooth, and passengers did not face any major inconvenience.
