A great gift for farmers! Under the Baliraja Yojana, permanent farm roads will be constructed across the state, with encroachments removed and construction carried out using machinery.
Nagpur/Mumbai: The Maharashtra government, addressing the long-standing demand of farmers, has approved the 'Chief Minister Baliraja Farm Access Roads Scheme'. Under this scheme, permanent roads will be constructed over the next four years on the farm access roads shown on the village maps throughout the state. This will facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce and reduce farmers' production costs.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, while giving information about this in the Legislative Assembly, said that this scheme will be implemented through the Revenue Department. Royalty fees on minor minerals required for road construction will be waived. Survey teams and police security will also be provided completely free of charge.
A separate fund will be allocated for the implementation of the scheme. The necessary provision for this will be made in the state budget to be presented in March. In addition, additional funds will be raised through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. Road construction will be done 100% through machinery, ensuring faster and higher quality work.
To oversee the scheme, committees will be formed at the state level under the chairmanship of the Revenue Minister, at the district level under the Guardian Minister, and at the assembly constituency level under the local MLA.
The approval of this scheme will provide great relief to farmers in rural areas. All-weather roads will be available even during the rainy season, making it easier to transport agricultural produce to the market.
