Action to be taken against fraud in the name of land development - Chandrashekhar Bawankule
Nagpur, 10th: No citizen should be defrauded under the guise of land development; strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty, with no leniency shown. Many families in the city have children living abroad or in other cities for employment. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule appealed to elderly parents—who remain here—to directly contact the nearest police station if anyone attempts to mislead or coerce them regarding their residential property. He also directed the police department to take action in such cases.
He was speaking at a review meeting held at the Police Commissioner's office. Senior officials present at the meeting included MLA Dr. Rajiv Potdar, Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil, Joint Police Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional Police Commissioners Rajendra Dabhade, Vinita Sahu, and Vasant Pardeshi, District Superintendent of Police Harsh Poddar, Deputy Commissioners of Police Aditya Milkherkar, Rahul Maknikar, Sandeep Pakhale, Rahul Madne, Rishikesh Reddy, Annapurna Singh, Rashmita Rao, Nityanand Jha, and Ramesh Dhumal, as well as Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Maske.
The administration is vigilant to ensure there are no lapses regarding the security of Nagpur city. Maximum funds are being made available through the District Annual Plan. Simultaneously, the CCTV camera network under the Municipal Corporation is being strengthened. Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that the necessary equipment would be provided to implement this system in a more integrated manner across both rural and urban areas.

He directed that the existing security cameras in Nagpur be upgraded and any operational gaps addressed. The meeting included discussions on completing the rural CCTV project before the legislative session and the benefits of awarding the city project to a single agency from a technical standpoint. A large number of complaints regarding the traffic situation are being received on social media; he stated that the police should take proactive measures to ensure smoother traffic flow, even where construction work is underway. A new system and operational framework have been devised to effectively deter criminals through modern technology.
