Nagpur:On the occasion of Republic Day, Nagpur Shramik Journalist Association, Tilak Journalist Bhavan Trust and Press Club of Nagpur Chiavati organized a program at Press Club on Thursday evening. The famous Middle Eastern Khandekar Musical Group mesmerized the audience at the annual gathering of journalists and their families at Nagpur Press Club on Thursday evening. Led by renowned Spanish guitarist Ramesh Khandekar, vocalist Dr. Mamta Khandekar, Rachna Pathak, Mahendra Manke and Lucky Khan entertained with old and new hits. The singers were accompanied by musicians Mangesh Patle (keyboard), Ulhas Chitmulwar (octopad), Vinit Kamble (congo and dholak). Sound system and lighting were provided by Shekhar Raulkar and Munna Lights.
Information Commissioner Rahul Pandey was the chief presence. Senior journalist SN Vinod was the chief guest. Pradip Kumar Maitra, President of Tilak Jakartan Bhavan Trust (TPBT), Nagpur Press Club (NPC) and Maharashtra Union of Working Journalists (MUWJ), Shirish Borkar, President of Nagpur Union of Working Journalists (NUWJ) and TPBT General Secretary and Bramhashankar Tripathi, TPBT and NPC General Secretary was prominently present on this occasion.
Mahendra Akant (Young India), Rajesh Tickle (Lokmat) Naresh Dongre (Lokmat) and
Dr. Rajesh Rampurkar (Dainik Sakal) who was awarded PhD by RTM Nagpur University was felicitated by the Chief Guest. Animesh, son of Parag Joshi (Tarun Bharat), who won gold medal in BCA examination, was also honored on this occasion. Meritorious Children of Journalists, who have secured more than 60 percent marks in HSC and SSC exams -Saveri Rajesh Tickle, Siddharth Anand Mohril, Aditi Anand Sharma, Himani Devrao Pradhan, Tanmayi Bipendra Singh, Kasturi Ram Bhakre, Tanusha Paritosh Prasani, Mayuresh Nilesh Deshpande, and Sheetal Manish Soni was given a cash prize. Rihan Akash Dupare, grandson of Prabhakar Dupare (Trustee) was awarded a special prize for securing the highest marks in the State Level Scholarship Examination. Himani Devrao Pradhan was given a cash prize by Vinay Karandikar (Trustee) for securing more than 90 percent marks in the board examination. Information Commissioner Rahul Pandey congratulated the awardees and meritorious students and announced a fellowship to Karthik Lokhande, chief reporter of 'The Hitwad' to work on internal security. Vishwas Indoorkar, Prabhakar Dupare, Bhupendra Ganveer, Joseph Rao, Vishnu Pandey, Chandrakant Anekar, Mahesh Updev, Varsha Bashu, Varsha Madane (Tupkar), Manish Soni, Paritosh Prasani, Manish Soni and Rajeshwar Mishra along with office bearers of TPBT, NUWJ and NPC and Employees have worked hard.
