Angry at being reprimanded, the young man killed his younger brother and mother

Chennai. A sensational case of double murder has come to light in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. A 20-year-old college student killed his mother and younger brother on Thursday in Tiruvottiyur, a northern suburb of the district. The young man stabbed his 45-year-old mother and 15-year-old younger brother to death while they were sleeping at their home and slit their throats. Nitesh, a third-year BSc Data Analyst student at a college in Velachery, then wrapped their bodies in separate plastic bags and fled after leaving them in the kitchen.
Messaged aunt
The police said the murder came to light when Nitesh sent a message on mobile to his aunt Mahalakshmi, who lives in the neighborhood, which read - I have left my mobile phone, house keys and a small taped bag. Come to my house immediately. Though Nitesh had sent the message at around 9.30 pm on Friday, Mahalakshmi saw the message at around 12.30 am on Saturday.
Bodies kept in plastic bags
Police said Mahalakshmi immediately rushed to Padma's house but found blood splattered on the floor and walls of the house and a pungent smell everywhere. Then there were two plastic bags containing the bodies of her sister Padma and nephew Sanjay. On receiving the information, police, forensic experts and a sniffer dog rushed to the spot. They tracked Nitesh's movements using his mobile phone tower location and finally traced him near the Tiruvottiyur beach.
Why did he kill his mother?
45-year-old M Padma was an acupuncture therapist while her younger son, 15-year-old Sanjay, was a Class 10 student at a private school in Tiruvottiyur. Padma's husband Murugan works as a crane operator in Oman. During interrogation, Nitesh told police that he was upset with his mother for being 'strict' and scolding him after he scored poor marks in semester exams and failed in 14 subjects.
Why did he kill his brother?
Police said Nitesh had run away from home two months ago and returned home after being convinced by his friends and family members. He also told police that he was upset with his mother but he also killed his younger brother as he did not want him to become an orphan.
