Another Congress candidate laid down arms

-Ticket returned citing lack of funds; Sambit Patra's path is easy
Puri. After Surat in Gujarat and Indore seat in Madhya Pradesh, Congress has suffered another huge blow. Congress candidate from Puri seat Sucharita Mohanty has refused to contest the elections citing lack of funds. He has withdrawn his candidature from Congress.
Let us tell you that Puri seat of Odisha is one of the hot seats. Here veteran BJP leader Sambit Patra is in the fray. Let us tell you that after the withdrawal of the name of the Congress candidate, the path has become easier for Sambit Patra.
Let us tell you that earlier the nomination of Nilesh Kumbhani, who was the Congress candidate from Surat seat, was cancelled. Apart from this, other candidates withdrew their nominations. In this way BJP's Mukesh Kumar won unopposed even before the elections were held.
The case of Indore Lok Sabha seat has reached the High Court. Congress had made Akshay Bam its candidate from here. Later he withdrew his name. Now there is no Congress candidate on Indore seat also.
Mohanty, who returned the Congress ticket from Puri seat, said that she is not getting funds from the party. In such a situation, due to lack of money he is not able to contest the elections. Sucharita had written a letter to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal. She said in the letter that due to non-receipt of funds from the party, she is not able to campaign. Let us tell you that voting is to be held on Puri seat in the sixth phase on May 25.
He said, even in the Assembly, tickets have not been given to the candidates who won on seven seats. Weak candidates have been fielded. He said, even after returning the tickets, no positive response has been received. It was said from the party side that it would have to make its own arrangements for the campaign. The party cannot help in this. Mohanty said, I wanted that there should be strong candidates on the assembly seats and it would be easier to campaign for the Lok Sabha. He told that the ticket was obtained in a very democratic manner. Generally the party gives funds to the candidates. BJP has imposed so many restrictions that it is becoming difficult even for the party. The party also faces a big challenge. BJP does not want Congress to campaign properly. In such a situation, the party is also helpless and is not able to help its candidates.
“Our opponents have good money,” he said. I had also run a campaign for donation on social media, but money could not be raised in such a short time. I also tried running people-based campaigns, but this also requires some money. Now there was very little time left so I had to return the ticket.
