Appeal to the validity of Maharashtra assembly elections, hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday

Mumbai: A petition challenging the validity of the Maharashtra assembly elections has been filed in the Supreme Court. This petition will be heard in the Supreme Court on Monday, August 18, 2025. This petition has been filed by Prakash Ambedkar, leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. In particular, the Election Commission has raised serious objections to the fact that the data of 76 lakh votes cast after 6 pm has not been preserved. Therefore, there is curiosity about what will happen during the hearing of this petition.
Currently, the atmosphere in the country is disturbed due to vote theft. The Election Commission is being viewed with suspicion. Moreover, voters are now also starting to wonder where exactly their votes went. In Maharashtra, different results were obtained in the Lok Sabha elections and completely opposite results in the assembly elections. At the same time, the opposition had started alleging that there was a disturbance in the voting. The opposition is raising the question of how the voting increased in Maharashtra.
Now, the National President of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, Adv. Prakash Ambedkar has given information in this regard by posting an X. He said that he has filed this petition and it will be heard. According to the Election Act, it is mandatory to keep the data of every vote safe. He said that not making information about such a large number of votes available is a serious violation of the law. In this context, tomorrow's hearing will be very important, and the entire country's attention has been drawn to Maharashtra politics.
Earlier, Adv. Prakash Ambedkar was fighting a legal battle in the Bombay High Court regarding 76 lakh votes cast after 5 pm. After the Bombay High Court rejected this petition, Adv. Prakash Ambedkar is fighting a legal battle in the Supreme Court. In it, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged vote rigging with evidence. Due to this, there has been a stir in the country. Now we have to see what happens in the Supreme Court on this.
