Autorickshaw rates will soon go up in the capital, RTO meeting hints

Nagpur, 9th - Think about the increased rates of auto rickshaws. Now, auto drivers should also be technosavvy! This appeal was made by Sub-Regional Transport Officer Ravindra Bhuyar.
He was speaking at a joint meeting of consumers, auto drivers association and transport administration. According to auto rickshaw drivers, the rise in fuel prices has necessitated a change in auto prices, which have been on the rise for the past seven years. About six organizations participated in the discussion. It also included consumer associations.
Gajanan Pandey, Union Minister, West Division, All India Consumer Panchayat, and Ganesh Shirole, Union Minister, All India Consumer Panchayat, Nagpur District, spoke on behalf of the consumers.
Consumer unions also acknowledged that the situation had made it difficult for auto rickshaw drivers to make a living. However, they will only benefit from the price hike if the auto rickshaws run on meters. Otherwise
Consumer unions have suggested that auto rickshaw drivers need to be trained on how to cope with the new competitive times by taking study classes. In that sense, it is possible Ola will adopt a revised transaction policy like Uber. For this, the consumer association is also ready to cooperate with the auto rickshaw association.
Increase tariff ....!
Auto rickshaw drivers' unions had suggested a tariff rate of Rs 14 per km in 2014 by the state government's Hakim Samiti, when petrol was priced at Rs 65 per liter. Given today's increase in petrol and diesel prices, autorickshaws cost around Rs 125 per liter. In such a scenario, the auto associations are saying that it is unfair on us to maintain the rates of seven years ago.
He opposes innovative transport systems such as public transport and Ola Uber. The monthly expenses of auto drivers are explained in the circulars submitted by the auto associations.
Although the auto rickshaw associations are correct in their speeches after hearing the statements of both the parties, Sub-Regional Officer Bhuyar said that if the auto rickshaws run on meters, they can get the benefit of the new change. Such organizations should also change over time. Auto associations should now be techno savvy. Ravindra Bhuyar also said that they can see some ray of hope from it. During the meeting, Tilak Auto Rickshaw Association leader Vilas Bhalekar, President Javed Sheikh, Vidarbha Autorickshaw Federation's Pawar Auto Rickshaw Association's Bharat Lanje strongly demanded an increase in autorickshaw rates.
