Avoid Mumbai protest during Ganeshotsav; CM appeals to Manoj Jarange; Jarange firm on going to Mumbai alone
Mumbai / Jalna: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed for a reconsideration of the planned protest in Mumbai, stating that staging a protest there while the Ganeshotsav festival is underway—thereby causing inconvenience to Ganesh devotees—would not be appropriate for anyone.
Meanwhile, Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil remains firm on his stance to protest in Mumbai. After the police denied permission for the protest at Azad Maidan, he announced that he would travel to Mumbai alone.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said, "The state government has fulfilled almost all the demands of the Maratha protesters. Some demands are subject to court decisions; they can only be fulfilled by following judicial processes or other constitutional methods."
Ganeshotsav began on Monday. The *Pran-pratishtha* (consecration) of the Ganesh idol also took place at the Chief Minister's official residence, 'Varsha'. Speaking to reporters afterwards, the Chief Minister clarified that the government is ready to accept demands that align with the Constitution, but demands falling outside the scope of law and judicial norms cannot be accepted. He added that the doors for dialogue remain open but appealed to everyone not to act in a way that causes trouble to Ganesh devotees during the festival.

He has been on a hunger strike at Antarwali Sarati for the past 17 days. "The community should not come to Mumbai at this time; I will call upon them myself at the appropriate moment," he stated.
Jarange announced that he would set out for Mumbai from Antarwali Sarati at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. He warned that he would continue to abstain from water, IV fluids, and medication, and cautioned the police against interfering at the protest site.
