BJP MP from Barabanki Upendra Singh Rawat returned the ticket

-Will not contest elections until proven innocent in porn video
New Delhi/Barabanki. BJP MP from Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, Upendra Singh Rawat has refused to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP MP took this decision after an allegedly objectionable video went viral. BJP had given him ticket from Barabanki this time also. But Rawat has withdrawn his claim. Upendra Singh Rawat said that he will not contest the elections until he gets a clean chit.
BJP had released the first list of 195 candidates on Saturday. The names of PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were there in it. Upendra Singh Rawat was given the ticket again from Barabanki. Meanwhile, an objectionable video of Upendra Rawat went viral on social media. In which he is seen in an objectionable condition with a foreign woman.
Dinesh Chandra Rawat lodged a complaint
After the obscene video went viral on social media, MP's representative Dinesh Chandra Rawat complained to the police. In the complaint, the viral video has been described as fake and edited. Also, a demand has been made for an impartial investigation into the matter.
Pawan Singh also returned the ticket
Before Upendra Singh Rawat, Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh has also returned the ticket to BJP. BJP had made Pawan Singh its candidate from Asansol seat of West Bengal. But the Bhojpuri star, expressing his gratitude to the BJP leadership, posted on social media and informed about not contesting the elections.
