BJP hits back at allegations of foreign aid: Calls Rahul Gandhi a ‘lousy con artist’

New Delhi, November 3, 2026: The BJP has launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who directly alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains in power due to ‘foreign aid.’ BJP national spokesperson C. R. Kesavan responded to these claims by labeling Rahul Gandhi a ‘lousy con artist.’ In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on November 2, Rahul Gandhi had stated, “Prime Minister Modi-ji, stop lying to the people of India. You became Prime Minister because of foreign aid, and you remain in office today on that same strength. The country’s economy and foreign social media platforms stand in your corner and exert control.” He also challenged Modi to an open debate on any platform. Responding to these accusations, Kesavan remarked, “Rahul Gandhi is such a ‘lousy con artist’ that his third-rate, false claims always backfire, ultimately leaving him embarrassed.” Citing remarks made by Rahul Gandhi during his 2023 visit to London—where he claimed, “This is not just India’s fight”—Kesavan argued that Gandhi himself had effectively invited foreign interference in India’s internal affairs ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kesavan also raised questions regarding the international associations of senior Congress leaders. He pointed to the fact that Sonia Gandhi served as a co-chair of the ‘Forum of Democratic Leaders in the Asia-Pacific’ (FDL-AP)—an organization that had supported the idea of ??an independent Kashmir and was linked to George Soros—thereby questioning the stance of the Congress party. Furthermore, the demand was made that the Congress party clarify its stance regarding entities linked to Soros, such as Hindenburg and Cornelia Woll. The BJP also criticized Rahul Gandhi’s frequent trips abroad. "Why does Rahul Gandhi suddenly travel abroad? Whom does he meet there in secret, and what is the agenda behind these meetings? Given his position as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, this secrecy surrounding his visits is a matter of grave concern for national security," stated Kesavan, demanding that Rahul Gandhi provide an answer to the nation on this issue. These allegations and counter-allegations have heated up the country's political climate, and all eyes are now on how Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party will respond to this criticism from the BJP.
