New Delhi: Before the Delhi Assembly elections, political buzz has started once again regarding unauthorized colonies. In this sequence, today the LG of Delhi has taken a big decision and ordered that the work of giving recognition to unauthorized colonies should be completed in a month.
Order to form a team
The LG ordered to finish this work within 1 month under the PM UDAY scheme. In this regard, the LG has ordered the DDA to form 10 teams. Three IAS officers and 22 SDA officers have also been deployed for this work. By setting up camps, orders have been given to complete this work as soon as possible through single window clearance. Let us tell you that there are more than 1700 unauthorized colonies in Delhi. In which more than 40 lakh voters live. The issue of unauthorized colony can become the biggest issue in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Time period from November 30 to December 31
The LG took this decision based on the feedback he received in several visits to several unauthorised colonies. People had raised their concerns before the LG and apprised him of the red tape involved in the regularisation process. Lieutenant Governor Saxena today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the PM-UDAY scheme. Following this, on his directions, the LG Secretariat has asked the DDA to organise special camps in unauthorised colonies in the next one month from November 30 to December 31 this year.
Campaign on social media
A social media campaign will be launched, including messaging on WhatsApp groups with the help of RWAs, to inform applicants about the schedule of the camps and ensure maximum participation of people. Advertisements in local newspapers and pamphlets will also be used to spread awareness and increase people's participation.
