Concern for Maharashtra: Karnataka government to raise Almatti dam - D.K. Shivakumar's announcement

Karnataka:- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced the decision to raise the height of Almatti dam, which has created serious concern for Maharashtra.
Almatti dam is built on the Krishna river, and increasing its height is likely to have a serious impact on the water supply in Maharashtra. This decision may reduce the water for agriculture of farmers on the banks of the river, and citizens may face major problems for drinking water.
The Maharashtra government has expressed strong displeasure over this announcement and has demanded a reconsideration. According to the state government, this decision violates the previous water sharing agreements between the two states.
D.K. Shivakumar, however, said that this decision is important for the water supply and irrigation system in Karnataka. He has also clarified that permission will be sought from the Central government in this regard soon.
This issue has been the subject of heated debate in political and social circles in Maharashtra, and it appears that the struggle for fair distribution of water resources will continue.
