After many people have been arrested so far in this case, three more clerks have been arrested. As the scope of this scam is increasing, the investigation is being taken deeper, which has reopened the discussion on the issue of corruption in the education department.
In this scam, a large-scale fraud was committed by misusing student data in the name of Shalarth ID. The accused had created fake IDs and misused lakhs of rupees in the name of government schemes and scholarships. After arresting these three, Nagpur Cyber ??Police has received important information from them, and further action is underway to arrest the main masterminds of the scam.
According to police sources, the clerk is working in the school department and had made illegal transactions by interfering in the ID registration process. The case began last month, when an investigation was launched on a complaint. So far, more than 12 people have been arrested and the amount involved in the scam has been revealed to be over Rs 50 lakh.
The incident has raised questions about the security of the education system in Maharashtra and the government has announced an independent investigation into the matter.
