New Delhi, July 23: Tensions persist between the government and the protesting group (CJP - Cockroach Janta Party) regarding the venue for discussions concerning the NEET paper leak issue. Although both sides have exchanged proposals, no concrete solution has been reached.
The government has once again extended an invitation for talks, offering to hold the meeting at Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda's residence or office. However, the CJP rejected this proposal and insisted on holding the meeting at Jantar Mantar or a neutral location.
Stance of Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc
Leaders of the INDIA bloc held a meeting at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's residence. Afterward, they attempted to visit Gandhi Smriti (Tees January Marg) but were stopped by security forces. Rahul Gandhi said, "We were denied permission to go to India Gate. Later, when we set out for Gandhi Smriti, we were stopped again. The main objective is to convey the message that we stand with the students."
Government's stance
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of a fast-track court to ensure immediate action against those accused in the paper leak case. Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that the government is ready to discuss all issues.
CJP spokespersons clarified that they are willing to hold talks but not at a Union Minister's residence; they have demanded a neutral venue. They also demanded concrete decisions rather than mere assurances.
