Demand for Amit Shah's resignation is a political stunt; Eknath Shinde lashes out at the opposition; also meets PM Modi
New Delhi: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde strongly criticized the opposition during a press conference in Delhi on Friday. He termed the demand for Amit Shah's resignation as political opportunism, stating, "When Amit Shah speaks in the House, the opposition will flee."

However, demanding Amit Shah's resignation is merely opposition politics. "Are they demanding his resignation because he eliminated Naxalism? Because he abrogated Article 370? Or because he put an end to Pakistani terrorism?" he asked.
He noted that Amit Shah brought prosperity by championing the cooperative sector and extending its network to the common people. The opposition should come to the House and engage in discussion. While the Leader of the Opposition has the right to protest, staging a demonstration outside the Prime Minister's residence instead of at Jantar Mantar was a conspiracy and a political stunt. Shinde asserted that demanding a resignation even after the Prime Minister stated that an inquiry into the lathi-charge was underway is purely political maneuvering. He targeted the opposition, including Rahul Gandhi, stating that Amit Shah does not need lessons from others on patriotism.
Shinde further stated that the government is ready for discussion while the Parliament session is underway, yet the opposition is creating a ruckus.
