Development Roadmap for Chakan! Sunetra Pawar Orders Deployment of 100 Security Personnel and Pothole Repairs
Pune: The state government has formulated a special roadmap to address long-standing issues in the Chakan area, including traffic congestion, waste management, and security. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar announced this during a review meeting held at the Government Rest House on Tuesday (August 26).
Deputy Chief Minister Pawar stated that a high-level committee, established for the holistic development of Chakan, has prepared a roadmap for the work; she assured that the committee would receive full cooperation and that their necessary suggestions and demands would be heeded. She remarked, "All relevant agencies have come together on a single platform. This is a positive development. Action is being taken in phases following an in-depth study of the issues through the committee."
Officials present at the meeting included Khed-Alandi MLA Babaji Kale, PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey.
**Immediate Deployment of 100 Security Personnel**
Highlighting the need to strengthen security arrangements due to Chakan's growing population, industrial expansion, and increasing traffic, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that the process of immediately appointing 100 security personnel is underway. Work is also in progress regarding the establishment of new police stations as required.
**Concrete Steps for Waste Management**
Noting that the presence of large amounts of garbage and plastic along the roadside is a cause for concern, she mentioned that discussions have been held with the MIDC and the process of making land available for a waste processing plant has begun. Work on setting up the project is being expedited.
**Directives to Fill Potholes by August 31**
To urgently address the issue of potholes on roads in the Chakan area, clear instructions have been issued to the concerned agencies to fill the potholes by August 31. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that priority action is also underway regarding road repairs, traffic congestion hotspots, and traffic management.
