Did Voter List Revision in West Bengal Aid the BJP? Mamata Banerjee Attacks Election Commission

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has raised serious questions regarding the functioning of the Election Commission. On Tuesday, she alleged that the term "logical inconsistency" was utilized during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of the voter list solely to benefit the BJP in Bengal.
Mamata Banerjee stated that the concept of "logical inconsistency" is not recognized within any framework of the Election Commission. Yet, it was selectively applied in West Bengal. In contrast, this term was never employed while implementing the SIR process in Bihar. She argued that this clearly demonstrates the process was orchestrated to serve the BJP's interests.
Mamata Banerjee made these remarks during election rallies held on Tuesday across the districts of West Midnapore, East Midnapore, and Howrah. She slammed the BJP as an "evil party," declaring, "I have never, in my entire life, seen a party as evil as the BJP."
Addressing women voters, Mamata said, "The security forces deployed for the election may attempt to prevent people from casting their votes; however, you must take a firm stand against them. Nevertheless, do not resort to any form of violence."
Against the backdrop of the West Bengal Assembly elections, the political controversy surrounding the revision of the voter list has intensified. These allegations leveled by Mamata Banerjee have once again cast a shadow of doubt over both the Election Commission and the BJP.
