Doctor Husband Strangles Wife to Death; Drives 50 km Away and Sets Car Ablaze; Horrific Murder Uncovered

Doctor Husband Commits Brutal Murder; Strangles Wife and Burns Car; Three Arrested in Case
A shocking incident has come to light in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh: Dr. Nilesh Kurmi strangled his wife, Seema Kurmi, to death following an argument inside their home. Subsequently, in an attempt to cover up the crime, he enlisted the help of two accomplices to transport the car—with the body inside—50 kilometers away to the Chanatoria area near Gadakota Road, where they doused the vehicle and the body with petrol and set them on fire. Initially, the incident appeared to be an accident, but a police investigation revealed the horrific truth.
The incident occurred around 2:30 AM on the night of March 20, 2026. An argument erupted between Nilesh and Seema after Nilesh returned home late at night. In a fit of rage, Nilesh strangled his wife, causing her to lose consciousness. He then summoned two accomplices, Ramkrishna and Shubham, claiming that Seema had suffered a heart attack. They placed her body inside the car. When their daughter woke up, Nilesh told her that he was taking her mother to a doctor and instructed her to stay at home.
On the way, Nilesh called Seema's father and brother to inform them that her health had deteriorated. Around 4:00 AM, they stopped the car at a secluded location, poured petrol over Seema's body and the vehicle, and set them on fire. All three men stood by the burning car, watching as it burned, without making any attempt to help.
The police were suspicious from the very beginning, as Nilesh's statements kept changing—at different times, he claimed it was a heart attack, an accident, or a CNG cylinder explosion. The true facts were eventually uncovered through the discovery of burnt matchsticks at the scene, the condition of the car, and technical forensic analysis. During interrogation, it was revealed that Nilesh was involved in an illicit relationship with another woman, which had been a constant source of conflict with Seema. Driven by this motive, he decided to eliminate his wife. During interrogation, Nilesh confessed to the crime. No evidence was found in the household CCTV footage. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report, which will determine whether the death was caused by strangulation or by burns.
The police have arrested three individuals—Dr. Nilesh Kurmi, Ramkrishna, and Shubham—and have registered cases against them for murder and the destruction of evidence. This incident, stemming from marital discord and extramarital affairs, has caused a major sensation within the community.
