
Education City: Building an International Education City in Navi Mumbai, Letters of Intent to be given to 5 foreign universities
Mumbai: Under the Maharashtra government's initiative Mumbai Rising - Creating an International Education City, five globally renowned foreign universities will be given letters of intent to set up their campuses. Therefore, they will be set up in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. These include the University of Aberdeen, University of York, University of Western Australia, Illinois Institute of Technology and Istituto Europeo di Design (IED). The letters of intent will be given on Saturday. The event will be held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest at the event. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil will also be present at the ceremony. Under the guidance of the Maharashtra Government, this International Educity, being set up by CIDCO, will provide students from all over India with an opportunity for world-class education. This education will promote the exchange of different cultures and increase cooperation and communication between students and professors from different backgrounds.
The main objective of this initiative is to provide international quality education in India and establish campuses of foreign universities in Maharashtra. Under the International Education City project, it is planned to set up campuses of top 10 foreign universities within 5 km of Navi Mumbai International Airport. This will be the first such International Education City in the country.
This project will establish Navi Mumbai and Mumbai as a global educational hub. It will be an important factor in achieving the goal of one trillion economy of Maharashtra and India's economic target of five trillion economy by 2029. These foreign universities will help change the educational landscape of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Moreover, it will also allow students to benefit from foreign education while living in India.
