Fadnavis’s scathing attack in Thane – Congress is conspiring to bring China’s ‘red system’ to India; a direct question to Rahul Gandhi.

Thane: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has leveled a serious allegation, claiming that there is a conspiracy afoot to bring China’s ‘red system’ to India. He stated that this is being orchestrated by discrediting the constitutional institutions established by the Constitution of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, and by instilling the belief among the public that the Constitution and democracy are incapable of delivering justice to citizens. Speaking at the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ (Save Democracy) march organized by the BJP in Thane, Fadnavis targeted the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. He posed a direct question to Rahul Gandhi: “Why does the Congress party and its trust receive donations from China? Have you set out to create anarchy in India using Chinese money?” Fadnavis remarked, “The opposition’s strategy is to brandish a ‘red constitution’ in one hand while simultaneously discrediting the institutions created by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution. The ‘red constitution’ displayed by the opposition is merely a mask; their true intentions lie hidden behind this red book. Attempts were made to alter the constitutions of Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh using this very ‘red book,’ and now, they have arrived in India carrying the same.” Stating that they have taken to the streets to expose this conspiracy, the Chief Minister asserted, “If those who are anti-Constitution take to the streets, we are prepared to confront them. This battle is not limited to the BJP or Modi; it is about protecting India and the Indian Constitution.” Fadnavis further alleged that the Congress and the opposition are uneasy because the names of Bangladeshi infiltrators are being removed from the electoral rolls through the SIR (Special Investigation/Verification) process. The Congress itself has ‘stolen’ the Constitution—in 1975, after the Allahabad High Court invalidated the election of the then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Congress government amended the Constitution with retrospective effect. A provision was introduced stating that the election of the Prime Minister could not be challenged in a court of law. Fadnavis alleged that further constitutional amendments made in 1976 imposed limitations on the fundamental rights of citizens. "The Congress, which levels accusations of 'vote theft,' has in reality stolen the Constitution itself. The Congress is a party that has stolen the Constitution; those who have dismantled and distorted the Constitution should not be the ones talking about 'saving' it today," the Chief Minister remarked. Present at this *padyatra* (foot march) were Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP State President Ravindra Chavan, and ministers Ganesh Naik, Pratap Sarnaik, and Jaykumar Rawal, along with various Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and office-bearers from the *Mahayuti* (ruling alliance).
