 Nagpur dt.
The Chichpalli Bamboo Training Center in Chandrapur district caught fire on Thursday.  This is the Bamboo Training Center of Chichpalli under the jurisdiction of Forest Department.  Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the blaze.  Firefighting is underway on the battlefield.  However, as the center is made of bamboo, the fire has spread rapidly.  Firefighters are trying their best to extinguish the fire.  The fire has cost the forest department millions of rupees.  Bamboo Center is known as the dream project of former Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
This is a world class bamboo research and training project under construction near Chichpalli village on the main road near Chandrapur city.  Early Thursday afternoon, a fireball was spotted on the roof of the project.  Then the whole roof was engulfed in flames.  Although the exact cause of the fire is unknown, the wind of Sosata is spreading the fire as there is dense forest nearby.  Two fire trucks of Chandrapur Municipal Corporation have reached the spot.  Extremely beautiful and handsome surroundings are being expressed by the fire.  A portion of the Tata Trust's social responsibility fund is being used for the Rs 91 crore project and several research and training complex buildings are being constructed in the area.
Preliminary information is that the building found at the site of the fire is the main administrative building.  The building has been constructed using special bamboo brought from Assam-Sindhudurg and Kolkata areas.  Built using only bamboo, it was the only building in Asia to be praised globally.  As the building is under construction, its inauguration is expected in the near future.  Meanwhile, senior forest officials have reached the spot to find out how the fire started and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
