Nagpur, dt. 24: Arrange extra beds in government and private hospitals in the division including Nagpur. Inform the citizens about the available beds. So that the patients will not be inconvenienced, said the Divisional Commissioner Dr. Presented by Sanjeev Kumar today.

 The medical facilities were reviewed by the Divisional Commissioner in a meeting of senior officers.

At present 5 thousand 284 patients are undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in Nagpur division. Out of this 3 thousand 856 patients are recruited in Nagpur district. This includes 342 patients from Wardha, 156 from Bhandara, 103 from Gondia, 524 from Chandrapur and 293 from Gadchiroli district. Due to the large number of patients in Nagpur city and district, it would not be inconvenient for Kovid patients to be informed about the number of patients admitted in different hospitals and the number of vacancies. As the benefit of Mahatma Jotiba Phule Arogya Yojana is permissible for the patients admitted in government hospitals as well as medical colleges and AIIMS, 2,732 cases out of 5,945 cases have been submitted to the government medical colleges. Also out of 1 thousand 427 cases of Indira Gandhi Medical 1 thousand 990 cases have been submitted and other cases should be submitted with priority and patients should get the benefit of the scheme. Such suggestions were made at this time.
The number of patients in Nagpur district is steadily increasing and the Municipal Corporation and the district administration have started an inspection campaign accordingly. The average number of infected patients is 31.35 percent. In addition to conducting screening campaigns for patients who have come in contact with coronary artery disease, the rate of outbreak is high. Strict restrictions should be imposed immediately in such areas. Timely medicines and necessary facilities should be provided to the homeless patients. Strict action should be taken to ensure that the infected patient does not move out. This was also stated in the meeting.

In Nagpur district, there are one thousand non-ICU beds in government colleges and hospitals and 2 thousand 367 beds in private hospitals. There are 380 beds available in government hospitals including ICUs and 818 beds in private hospitals, adding an additional 90 beds in Shalinitai Meghe Medical College and Medical College. The number of beds in private hospitals should also be increased according to the number of patients, it was suggested at the meeting.
Oxygen tankers are being made available daily from Bhilai Steel Plant for the division including Nagpur district. A proposal will be sent to the concerned company to increase this and make two additional tankers available. As oxygen is being supplied from Akola and Nanded from Pune, oxygen may be available on demand for Nagpur division. As the number of coronaviruses increases, restrictions on the use of oxygen should be imposed and instructions should be issued to use 80 per cent oxygen for healthcare and 20 per cent for oxygen industry, he said. Vaccination rate has been increased in Nagpur division. According to him, the vaccination campaign is being carried out for the patients above 60 years of age as well as the sick patients up to 45 years of age. Under this campaign 1 lakh 75 thousand 912 vaccinations have been given and more than 64% of the citizens have been vaccinated. The immunization center has been set up to increase the scope of vaccination and more vaccinations will be given in Nagpur district than the daily target. Jaiswal said in the meeting.
