Nagpur, dt. 31: The right house is a daydream for those who earn on hand. There is no such thing as a roof over one's head for those who have the illusion of survival. It is a happy moment that the dream of a home for the homeless is being fulfilled with the help of the administration, stated the Minister of State for Energy and Guardian Minister of Nagpur, Dr. Nitin Raut here today.
He was speaking at the distribution of leases to slum dwellers coming under the purview of Nazul, Municipal Corporation and Nagpur Improvement Pranyas in Nagpur Municipal Corporation area. State Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Sunil Kedar, Nagpur Municipal Corporation Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, MLA Mohan Mate, Municipal Corporation Opposition Leader Tanaji Vanve, Collector R. Vimala, Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, Nagpur Reforms Pranyas Chairman Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Yogesh Kumbhejkar were present.
The slum dwellers on Nazul land in the notified slums of Nagpur Municipal Corporation area were given certificates of allotment of leases in the initial form. About three and a half hundred proposed cases are being authorized. Some of these selected representative lease holders were allotted leases at today's event. According to the state government's new Corona Prevention Rules, attendance was limited to 50 people. Therefore, leases were allotted to a few people. Leases will be allotted to 110 slum dwellers in Nazul area, 110 under Nagpur Improvement Pranyas and 30 in Nagpur Municipal Corporation area.
A grand event was organized in this regard at the Sports Complex at Mankapur. A large number of beneficiaries would come together for this scheme. However, due to the decision of the administration to abide by the rules of the state government and the rule of 50 was fixed last night, this program was held in a small presence today. However, the beneficiaries and their relatives took advantage of the program in an audio-visual manner.
At this time, the Guardian Minister said that there is a big problem of housing for the poor people who are attracted to the city in search of work. Somewhere in the city where to find employment, where to live? The question remains. As a result, thousands of families are facing the dilemma of accommodation. The problem of slums has been on the rise in the city for the last twenty five years. Most of the huts are in open spaces owned by the central or state government. The government has decided to give ownership leases to the families who have been living there for years. He clarified that today's ceremony is taking place from that. On this occasion, he appreciated the initiative taken by the Municipal Corporation Reforms and Revenue Department for this and the follow up done.
Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Sunil Kedar also addressed the gathering. Getting houses for the poor is a big event in life. He lauded the Guardian Minister for taking the initiative for this. MLA Mohan Mate also demanded a solution to the problem of scrub forest. Tanaji Vanve thanked the Guardian Minister for speeding up the process of allotment of houses. The entire program was introductory by District Collector R Vimala. Tehsildar Chaitali Sawant compered the program and resident Deputy Collector Vijaya Bankar gave the vote of thanks.
