High-profile sex racket operating via ‘Login Personal Meeting’ app busted in Nagpur; women from Delhi, Kolkata, Punjab, and Uzbekistan rescued
Nagpur: The Social Security Department of the Crime Branch busted a major online sex racket on Friday night. Rahul, Pooja, and Sameer (alias Manish Thakur) have emerged as the key masterminds behind the racket, which facilitated sex workers from across the country and abroad through the ‘Login Personal Meeting’ app. While Rahul, Pooja, and Thakur remain at large, their associate Sachin Manikrao Mahajan (38) has been arrested.
Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap and apprehended the accused, Sachin Mahajan, along with his Swift Dzire car (MH 31/FC 9130), as he prepared to supply a sex worker for ?15,000. An Uzbek (Russian) woman was taken into custody at the same time. Subsequently, raids on Hotel Petal Inn and another hotel in Dhantoli led to the detention of four more women. Among them, two are from Uzbekistan, while the others hail from Delhi, Punjab, and Kolkata.
All these women had arrived in Nagpur last week. The accused had lured them into prostitution with the promise of money. The police have seized assets worth ?5.25 lakh, including ?8,000 in cash, mobile phones, and the Swift car. A case has been registered at the Ambazari Police Station, and a search for the absconding accused is underway.

The operation was conducted by a team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Deepak Agrawal, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivprasad Parve, and Inspector Darshan Patil, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, and Additional Commissioner of Police Rajendra Dabhade. The detained women have been sent to the Karuna Rehabilitation Centre. Verification of the foreign women's passports and travel documents is currently in progress. The network of this racket is spread across the country, and sex workers were being made available in any major city via an app. The police are conducting further investigations.
