Home voting begins - Vasant Dhomane became the first home voter

Nagpur, Dt. 14 - The Election Commission of India has made the facility of home voting available to citizens above 85 years of age and citizens with more than 40 percent disability certificate to exercise their right to vote. In the district, home voting started from April 14 from Nagpur East Assembly Constituency.
Senior citizen Vasant Dhomene, a resident of Diamond Nagar in Nagpur East Assembly Constituency, exercised his right to vote at home for the first time. Nagpur East Assembly Constituency Assistant Election Decision Officer Chandrabhan Khandait, Zonal Officer Rajurkar, Central President Mangala Gangare, BLO Vandana Tripaka were present on this occasion.
A total of 2 thousand 360 voters in Nagpur and Ramtek Lok Sabha constituencies will exercise their right to vote at home during the period from April 14 to 17, so that senior citizens above 85 years of age and the disabled can get the benefit of voting.
160 teams have been formed by the Election Department for Nagpur, which includes 480 officers and employees. 105 teams have been formed for Ramtek Lok Sabha Constituency which includes 315 officers and employees. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials and employees through the District Election Department to ensure that the voter's privacy is not violated in any way.
