IRCTC’s New Website to Launch on July 15; Major Relief for Rail Passengers
New Delhi: There is great news for railway passengers. IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation), the online ticket booking arm of Indian Railways, is set to launch its new, state-of-the-art website on July 15, 2026. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced this development.
Many passengers had previously complained about issues on the current website, such as server crashes, CAPTCHA problems, slow speeds, and difficulties with 'Tatkal' (immediate) bookings. In response to these concerns, the Ministry of Railways decided to completely modernize the website.
The new website will feature faster ticket booking, an improved user interface, seat selection options, a more efficient Tatkal booking process, and the capacity to handle high traffic volumes. This will save time for millions of passengers and make the booking experience much smoother.
Notably, the Ministry of Railways took this decision in response to passenger feedback and complaints. The new portal will strengthen the railways' digital services and allow passengers to benefit from modern technology.
