IT employees will have to work 14 hours!

-Karnataka government's new proposal regarding private firms
Bengaluru. A bill of Karnataka government regarding private firms is in the headlines. According to this bill, jobs will be reserved for the residents of Karnataka even in private jobs. Along with this, now the state government is going to come up with a new plan.
According to Karnataka IT Employees Union (KITU), the government is thinking of increasing the working hours of IT employees, after which every IT employee will have to work for 14 hours every day.
According to KITU, a proposal to amend the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishment Act was put forward in a meeting. This meeting was held by the Labor Department, in which other stakeholders were also present. In this meeting, there is a proposal of 14 hours working. However, the government had not given its stand on this till the time of writing the news.
Proposal to work for 14 hours instead of 10
KITU claims that after the new amendment, working for 14 hours will become a normal process. Currently, this time is about 10 hours. After this amendment, IT companies will also be able to increase their working hours.
KITU has called this decision the biggest attack on the working class so far, due to which IT companies will be able to move to a two-shift system, whereas currently work is done in three shifts. Due to this decision, about one-third of the people will be forced to leave their jobs or will be made to leave.
